Catton & Tondelstrand Family Lawyers is a highly regarded, award winning and progressive boutique family law firm based on the Sunshine Coast. Due to continued growth and exciting opportunities on the horizon, we are seeking a Senior Family Lawyer (3+ PAE) to join our team.

This is a role designed for a lawyer who is ready for the next stage of their career – someone who wants high-quality work, leadership opportunities and a clear pathway for growth.

The Opportunity

You will:

  • Appear regularly in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia

  • Advise clients with confidence, clarity and empathy

  • Work collaboratively with senior practitioners, support staff and the broader team

  • Contribute to strategy, mentoring and the ongoing development of the practice

  • Have opportunities for advocacy, mediation and strategic litigation work

You will enjoy a high level of autonomy, balanced with strong support from experienced colleagues.

About You

You will ideally have:

  • A current unrestricted Queensland Practising Certificate

  • 3+ years’ post admission experience practising family law

  • Strong technical knowledge of family law and procedure

  • Excellent drafting, analytical and problem solving skills

  • The ability to manage client relationships with confidence and care

  • A proactive, solutions focused approach

  • A collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills

  • A genuine passion for family law

You value working in a team where people support each other and take pride in their work.

You will work closely with Accredited Specialists and senior practitioners who value collaboration and knowledge sharing. There are genuine opportunities to:

  • Further develop advocacy and strategic skills

  • Mentor and support junior lawyers (if this interests you)

  • Participate in business development, firm strategy and innovation

  • Progress your career within a growing boutique practice

We actively encourage continued learning and professional development at every stage of your career.

Our firm culture is built on:

  • Above the line behaviour and accountability

  • Teamwork and collaboration

  • Achieving great outcomes for all parties, wherever possible

  • Integrity and excellence in everything we do

  • Belief in our work and why it matters

  • Ongoing personal growth and professional development

  • Innovation and continuous improvement

We are intentional about creating a workplace where people feel supported, trusted and proud of the work they do.

In return, we offer:

  • Competitive remuneration commensurate with experience

  • Opportunity to participate in a KPI based bonus structure

  • Stability and job security within an established, respected firm

  • A positive, supportive and high performing team culture

  • Interesting, complex and rewarding family law work

  • The opportunity to have a real impact across the practice

  • Ongoing learning and professional development

  • A modern, comfortable office in the heart of the Maroochydore CBD
